Housing Families First
Housing Families First is a Richmond, VA-based nonprofit working to empower families facing homelessness. They contracted me to build a microsite for the final report of their capital campaign Opening Doors for Families, which successfully raised $4.6 million and served over 300 additional people in the Greater Richmond region over the course of the campaign.
Capital campaigns and annual reports remain key components of so many businesses, especially non- and not-for-profit organizations, and there are often high stakes to these reports that affect past and future funding. Traditional printed reports can feel like a daunting and expensive lift, especially considering our digital-first information ecosystem, though there is often still a need for physical pieces at fundraising events and other donor solicitation initiatives. I worked with HFF’s communications team to deliver punchy, scannable, but still thorough reporting on the campaign, and then leveraged the design to that end as well (including a top page navigation bar, a persistent scroll-to-the-top button, sliding block animations, and animated numbers).
Because of my familiarity with both web and print mediums, and since I brought the project top-down from design to development, I was also able to adapt the design into a printable PDF for minimal additional cost, allowing HFF to get the best of both worlds.
