The Visual Arts Center of Richmond's Craft + Design

The Visual Arts Center of Richmond’s Craft + Design is a contemporary craft show that has garnered a reputation for showcasing the finest in museum-quality craft. The weekend event welcomes over 150 artists from across the country and over 10,000 visitors from across the mid-Atlantic region. My work on the branding + marketing for this event won an award from the PRSA of Richmond.

VisArts contracted me to create the original Craft + Design website in 2020 when the event was moved online due to the pandemic. That year, the site was a weeklong online shopping event that, along with special events throughout the week, drove over $70,000 in sales. The site was a full WooCommerce build that listed thousands of items from hundreds of artists with no dropouts or major hiccups, providing a lifeline both for the non-profit and the participating artists during a turbulent moment in history.

Since then the site has shifted to a more standard display site that embeds ticket sales, houses event details for attendees, and hosts the primary information hub for vendors and exhibitors. The site receives over 50,000 visits in the weeks leading up to the event.
